Track Field History for Tasks / Activities in Salesforce Lightning

A lot of Salesforce users & admins have asked for a task history tracking option in Salesforce in order to track status & comment changes or to generate global usage/trend report.
It is now possible to do that with the following app & package.

Installing ZaapIT History Tracking (3 steps):

1) Install  Smart-Tables / Smart-Activity-manager from the AppExchange.

2) Install the below ZaapIT history extension package:

3) Add the history grid to the page layout as a tab (use zaapit_tb_task_rl1 page).

Sending Bulk Emails to every Contact / Lead

Did you ever wanted to send bulk emails to every Contact / Lead in Salesforce?

On September/2017 we added that ability to our list of features - no more switching to next page...

Sending bulk emails:

  1. Create a Salesforce email-template (via setup>filter> email templates), make sure the template have a text version + a description (the app uses that information when it creates the an activity log)
  2. Open the Smart-mass-update>contacts or leads tab
  3. Use an existing view or create a new view with the relevant filters i.e. in order select the relevant leads / contacts for this email campaign ...
  4. Mark the "all" checkbox and click the Mass Email button (on the list-top)
  5. Select your template from the list for available templates
  6. Click the Send - All Rows button (you will receive a batched email summary once done).
  7. After the emails were sent use the "HTML Email Status Report" to monitor user interaction.

Automatic Lead-convert in Salesforce

The following example will show you how to setup an automatic lead-convert process with a custom convert criteria.

The following auto lead convert process does not create duplicate contacts / accounts (it uses to lead's email & company name to find existing contacts & accounts - similar to our mass convert actions).
You can disable/enable the auto-duplicate detection and the creation of new opportunities (disabled by default)...

Set a new field value in bulk by using a custom formula on a subset of your records / all records (without coding)

The following example will show you how to set a new field value in mass by using a custom formula on a subset of your records / all your records (across all the list-pages). The following process can work on any object & field - we built the following example for a custom "SLA" field located under the standard Account object.

Creating a custom formula & using it in Mass:

1. Optional Step: Backup your data via Setup>Data Management>Data Export (you will be able to revert / compare)
2. Create an update-action-process using Salesforce's process builder and add the desired formula to populate your field (setup>create>Workflow & Approvals>Process Builder> use the update record action):

3. Go to smart-mass-update>accounts tab & click on the mass update button:

Choose the same field you chose in step#2 & mass update all the rows (grid filters will be respected):

5. Disable the process/flow - in case you don't need that for all the rows.
